Joe's Crab Shack in Clifton, NJ

I love seafood and often find interest in going to Red Lobster. Who can resist their savory biscuits or their lobster pizza?

I remember vacationing in the Caribbean with my family a few years ago. You know how it is when you go on vacation.  All the seafood you can imagine is pulled fresh from the sea and tastes extraordinarily good. From that point on, I have loved seafood; especially the shelled fish.

In the states, every now and then I feel like having seafood. Red Lobster is a good fast food restaurant for some flavorful seafood; especially when they have their lobster specials.  But so is Joe’s Crab Shack.

I had never been there before until this past weekend when a friend convinced me to go and so, as part of our road trip out of New York, we made a pit stop at the Crab Shack in Clifton, NJ before we continued heading south.
The restaurant is pretty nice.  It has indoor and outdoor seating and just enough to be able to service a large crowd of hungry folks on a Saturday afternoon, evening or after church on Sunday.

The staff was polite.  They made us feel welcome by continuously asking us if we were alright and also singing, dancing and giving us a bibs with a cool nickname for each and every guest. The bibs come in handy when cracking the shells of the crab legs open and/or whatever else you decide to eat there that can be messy.
The menu features a large variety of food and drink options from buckets of crabs, steam-pots, platters, appetizers and desserts. The steam-pots feature a variety of different types of seafood including king or queen crab legs, mussels, clams, shrimps, and scallops and come pre-seasoned. You get to choose from about ten different sauces for the buckets of crabs.  All the steampots come with corn on the cob, sausages and potatoes. the steampot is so overflowing with food that it can be shared amongst friends or between two not so hungry people. Basically, you get your money's worth.

Joe’s Crab Shack is a good family place; especially for families with young kids and can also be a good spot for friends to convene.  The food is good, the prices are not so bad, the staff is polite, the drinks are good and the bathrooms are clean. I think I’ll go back.

Here's a link to their website just in case you are interested in going:
